From April to October, India imported a total of 3.5 million tons of finished steel products, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%. Data show that overall import volume also hit a four-year high. South Korea was India's second-largest exporter of finished goods between April and October, with exports of 1.1 million tonnes. The Indian steel industry seeks government intervention by imposing safeguard measures on Chinese imports. Earlier this month, India's federal steel minister said the increase in imports was worrying. However, Indian government data showed that India remained a net exporter from April to October, selling 3.5 million tons of steel to buyers including Italy, Spain, Belgium, Lebanon and Lebanon, Reuters reported today.Data shows that hot rolled coils and strips are India’s top export products. India's crude steel output from April to October was 82.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15%. India is the world's second largest producer of crude steel.India's GDP was 75.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15%.
